Work related injuries lead to billions of dollars in lost productivity. Additionally, the majority of work related strains go unreported later manifesting themselves as more serious conditions, which could have been prevented with early treatment. Modern Edge worked with a leading tech firm to develop a wearable tracker that monitors the dynamics of body movements – including sudden strains – to help avoid injury and identify poor workplace hazards before they result in injuries.
Human factors studies were used to identify the ideal placement for various workplace tasks. Through the analysis of movement and posture, configuration cluster were correlated to common workplace injuries.
Systems and work movement can be monitored both by the individual and the workplace for increased worker safety. Data compilations can also be identified when workplace movements revert to potentially dangerous ones.
