On September 23rd the Art Institute of Portland, Open Space students presented their innovative ideas for GoPro (hd Sports Camera) to the industry professional judges and faculty. They asked Stephanie Battista, of Modern Edge to assist in judging the 7 teams. Each team showed a 2 min. video pitching their GoPro product, accessory, or packaging idea, followed by an open gallery walk where judges circulated between the pined up work to review the teams approaches. A guideline for the competition was that each interdisciplinary of Industrial Design, Interior Design, Graphic Design, Fashion and Digital Film were to be represented in the competition. Each student was judged on how they integrated the principles and process of biomimicry to the solutions and concepts for GoPro.
Congratulations to the 1st place + 2nd place winners…and to all of the other participants. We truly enjoyed being a part of the competition.
Thank you to Marjorie Marcellus, Interior Design / Industrial Design Program Director & Elizabeth Lockwood, Interior Design Adjunct Faculty for putting this event together.
